Hugh Stoddart’s many successful screenplays have included his original script REMEMBRANCE (C4) which won the Grand Prize at Taormina, and his adaptation TO THE LIGHTHOUSE (Rosemary Harris and Kenneth Branagh) shown to acclaim on BBC1 and PBS, and BAFTA shortlisted. Other adaptations have included his cult comedy WE THINK THE WORLD OF YOU (Alan Bates & Gary Oldman).
His single film THE MILL ON THE FLOSS with Emily Watson was shown on BBC1 and his contribution to the Dalziel & Pascoe series was his award-winning Xmas special DIALOGUES OF THE DEAD.
His recent film WAITING FOR YOU starring Fanny Ardant and Colin Morgan is now available on Amazon Prime, and he has been commissioned to adapt MEMOIRS OF HADRIAN – about the Roman Emperor, Hadrian – for Gold Screen Films. He is currently writing THE LAST TAPE, a stage play about Samuel Beckett and Max Wall and developing his own low budget screenplay, MY SONGS INSIDE.
